Product Description

Product Description

 Product Description
MONEL  K-500 is a nickel-copper precipitation-hardenable alloy that combines the excellent corrosion resistance of Monel 400 with significantly higher strength and hardness achieved through age-hardening heat treatment. The alloy exhibits outstanding resistance to seawater, chlorides, and marine environments, while maintaining good mechanical properties over a wide temperature range.

Monel K-500 alloy is widely supplied in the form of bar, plate, pipe, tube, wire, forgings, and powder, making it suitable for both structural and high-performance applications.

FAQ

1. What is nickel alloy powder?

Nickel alloy powder is a metal powder produced from nickel-based superalloys, designed to offer excellent high-temperature strength, corrosion resistance, and oxidation resistance. It is commonly used in additive manufacturing, powder metallurgy, and thermal spray applications.

2. What production methods are used for nickel alloy powder?

Nickel alloy powder is typically produced by gas atomization, which ensures spherical particle shape, high flowability, and low oxygen content. Other methods may be available upon request depending on application requirements.

3. What particle size ranges are available?

Common particle size distributions include:

  • 15-45 μm

  • 20-63 μm

  • 45-106 μm

Custom particle size ranges can be supplied based on specific processing needs.

4. Which applications are suitable for nickel alloy powder?

Nickel alloy powder is widely used in:

  • Additive manufacturing (SLM / L-PBF / DMLS / EBM)

  • Powder metallurgy (PM)

  • Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP)

  • Thermal spray coatings

It is suitable for producing high-strength, heat-resistant, and corrosion-resistant components.

5. Is the powder suitable for additive manufacturing?

Yes. Nickel alloy powder with controlled particle size distribution, spherical morphology, and low impurity levels is well suited for additive manufacturing processes, ensuring stable printing performance and high-density parts.

6. How is the powder packaged for shipment?

Nickel alloy powder is typically packed in sealed plastic bottles, aluminum foil bags, or steel drums, with moisture-proof and contamination-resistant protection. Packaging can be customized according to shipment quantity and customer requirements.

7. What is the typical net weight per package?

Standard packaging options include:

  • 1 kg / bottle

  • 5 kg / bottle

  • 10 kg / drum
Custom packaging weights are available upon request.

8. Are material certificates provided?

Yes. Each batch of nickel alloy powder can be supplied with a Mill Test Certificate (EN 10204 3.1), including chemical composition, particle size distribution, and inspection results.

9. What standards does the powder comply with?

Nickel alloy powder can be produced to meet relevant standards such as ASTM, AMS, ISO, or customer-specified technical requirements, depending on the alloy grade and application.

10. How should nickel alloy powder be stored?

The powder should be stored in a dry, cool, and sealed environment, away from moisture and contamination. Unused powder should be resealed promptly after opening.

11. Is custom alloy composition available?

Custom chemical composition and powder specifications may be available subject to technical evaluation and minimum order quantity requirements.

12. What quality control measures are applied?

Quality control typically includes chemical analysis, particle size analysis, flowability testing, apparent density measurement, and visual inspection to ensure consistent powder quality.
