HiperCo 50, also known as Permendur or UNS R30005, is a soft magnetic cobalt-iron alloy containing approximately 49% cobalt and 49% iron, with a small addition of vanadium to enhance ductility.
It offers the highest magnetic saturation (2.4 Tesla) of any commercially available soft magnetic material, making it ideal for applications requiring high flux density and magnetic performance under extreme conditions.
This alloy combines excellent magnetic properties with high mechanical strength and stability at elevated temperatures, widely used in aerospace, defense, power generation, and high-speed electric motors.
Exceptional magnetic saturation (2.4T)
Excellent permeability and low coercive force
Superior strength and mechanical stability at high temperatures
Good resistance to demagnetization
Suitable for laminated cores, rotors, stators, and actuators
High-performance electric motor and generator cores
Aerospace and defense actuators
Magnetic bearings and sensors
Transformer and alternator laminations
High-frequency magnetic circuits

Q1: What is HiperCo 50 used for?
A1: It is mainly used in electric motors, generators, and magnetic actuators where high magnetic flux density and temperature stability are essential.
Q2: What makes HiperCo 50 special compared to pure iron or silicon steel?
A2: HiperCo 50 offers much higher magnetic saturation and better performance at elevated temperatures, though it is more expensive due to its cobalt content.
Q3: What forms can you supply?
A3: Available in bars, sheets, strips, rings, forgings, and customized machined parts according to customer drawings.
Q4: Is HiperCo 50 easy to machine or weld?
A4: It is machinable but requires rigid setups and sharp tools; welding should be done carefully with preheating and post-weld annealing.
Q5: Do you provide inspection certificates?
A5: Yes, we provide EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 certificates, including chemical composition, mechanical properties, and magnetic test reports.
Q6: What is the delivery time?
A7: Usually 7-15 working days for stock materials, and 20-30 days for custom-machined or special-size rings.
Q7: Do you offer price discounts for large quantities?
A8: Yes. We provide big price discounts for bulk orders or long-term cooperation projects. Please contact us for a detailed quotation.
