HASTELLOY G-3 Nickel Alloy Ring is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy with outstanding resistance to a wide range of oxidizing and reducing environments. It provides excellent resistance to phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid acidmixtures, and oxidizing chlorides.
Compared with HASTELLOY G-30, Alloy G-3 offers better weldability and improved resistance to localized corrosion, especially in oxidizing chemical solutions. It retains good mechanical properties in both welded and fabricated conditions.
Key Features:
Excellent resistance to oxidizing and reducing acids
Superior corrosion resistance in phosphoric acid and mixed acid media
High resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting
Good weldability and formability
Stable mechanical strength at elevated temperatures
Typical Applications:
Chemical process equipment (heat exchangers, evaporators, reactors)
Marine environments and seawater desalination systems
Flue gas scrubbers and pollution control units
Piping systems handling mixed acid solutions
Pharmaceutical and fertilizer industries

Q1: What is the main advantage of Hastelloy B-3 compared to Hastelloy B-2?
A1: Hastelloy B-3 offers better thermal stability and fabrication properties, meaning it is less sensitive to heat treatment and welding. This makes it more reliable for complex equipment manufacturing.
Q2: Can Hastelloy B-3 be used in oxidizing acid environments?
A2: No, Hastelloy B-3 is specifically designed for reducing environments (e.g., hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid in reducing conditions). In oxidizing environments, corrosion may occur rapidly.
Q3: What are the typical forms available for this alloy?
A3: We can supply rings, bars, rods, plates, tubes, and customized forged parts according to your drawings or dimensional requirements.
Q4: Do you provide material certification?
A4: Yes. We supply EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 certificates, including full chemical composition and mechanical property test results.
Q5: What industries mainly use Hastelloy B-3 rings?
A5: Industries such as chemical processing, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and environmental protection use Hastelloy B-3 for equipment exposed to strong acids.
Q6: What packaging and delivery options are available?
A6: Standard export seaworthy packaging with plastic film and wooden cases. Delivery within 7-15 working days for standard dimensions or per contract for customized parts.
Q7: What is the delivery time?
A7: Usually 7-15 working days for stock materials, and 20-30 days for custom-machined or special-size rings.
Q8: Do you offer price discounts for large quantities?
A8: Yes. We provide big price discounts for bulk orders or long-term cooperation projects. Please contact us for a detailed quotation.
