Product Introduction
HAYNES 242 alloy (UNS N10242) is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium age-hardenable alloy designed to provide high strength combined with excellent thermal stability.
This alloy achieves its mechanical strength through precipitation (age) hardening, while maintaining good resistance to creep, relaxation, and distortion at elevated temperatures. Compared with solid-solution strengthened alloys, Haynes 242 offers superior dimensional stability during long-term high-temperature service.
HAYNES 242 alloy also exhibits good fabricability and weldability in the solution-annealed condition, making it suitable for precision components requiring tight dimensional control.
