HAYNES 242 alloy (UNS N10242) is a nickel-molybdenum alloy designed for applications requiring high strength, excellent thermal stability, and exceptionally low thermal expansion.
It maintains outstanding mechanical properties up to 760°C (1400°F) and shows excellent resistance to creep, oxidation, and stress relaxation.
Due to its low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), HAYNES 242 is widely used in precision high-temperature components, aerospace hardware, gas turbine parts, chemical processing equipment, and industrial heat-treating systems.
It offers good fabricability and can be supplied as sheet, plate, strip, bar, wire, and forgings with full MTC EN 10204 3.1.
